Horny Goat Weed

Horny goat weed is a rhizomatous perennial herb. It is native to Japan, Korea, and parts of China, and grows on hillsides and in cliff crevices and shady areas. The plant has light yellow, violet, red, and white flowers, and oval fruits. Epimedium species have been used as tonics in Chinese herbal medicine to enhance sexual performance by increasing testosterone production, sexual energy, and overall well-being. Historically, horny goat weed was said to possess aphrodisiac effects and improve impotence, spermatorrhea, and premature ejaculation.
